The green algae are fairly underepresented when compared to the number of red and brown marine algal species. In California, the green algal flora comprises only 10% of all the seaweed species currently recognized. Most of the species are grass green in color, if you´ve never seen grass, well then we can´t help you. Unlike the two other divisions, the green algae have a large number of species that live in freshwater as in addition to the ocean. In fact, they love freshwater. Not Wilson Freshwater, although they may, who knows?
